Des Potter joined Lloyd’s in March 2022 as Special Advisor to the office of the Chief Financial Officer, focusing on enhancing access for institutional investors to the Lloyd’s market. He has played a major role in the success of the London Bridge risk transformation platform.
He has over 25 years senior executive experience in the (re)insurance, ILS and debt capital markets, having previously worked at Barclays Bank, Aon Benfield Securities Ltd, and, latterly at Guy Carpenter where he was both CEO of investment advisory firm MMC Securities Ltd which traded as GC Securities.
Des was a founding member of the London Market Group’s ILS taskforce that developed the UK’s Risk Transformation legislation, passed by Parliament in 2017.
Des is also an independent Non-Executive Director for Howden Capital Markets & Advisory and a member of the Audit & Risk Committee for Howden Re.
