Simon Wilson is Chief Executive Officer of Markel Insurance and is based in London. In his role, Simon is responsible for Markel’s global insurance operations which wrote over $10bn of GWP in 2025.
Simon holds degrees in both Law and Management and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He also serves on the board of the International Underwriting Association as Deputy Chairman. Prior to joining Markel in 2010, Simon led the Lloyd’s Asia platform, based in Singapore.
