Edward Barton is Head of ILS Structuring for the Americas at Swiss Re Capital Markets, a leader in Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) since the market's inception in 1997. Swiss Re Capital Markets offers comprehensive solutions tailored to clients' unique risk hedging and financing needs, serving a variety of sponsors including re/insurers, governments and corporations.
During his career, Edward has led the structuring of a variety of ILS transactions, spanning catastrophe bonds (both life and non-life), sidecars, nat cat derivatives and insurance-linked financings. In addition, Edward has led securitizations of life settlements and insurance premium finance assets, as well as securitizations of other non-insurance assets.
Prior to Swiss Re Capital Markets, Edward led the Insurance Structured Finance team at Goldman Sachs, and held roles within Securitized Products at Nomura Securities. Edward graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Applied Economics.
