John DeCaro, CFA, is a Founding Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager for Elementum Advisors, LLC.  An industry pioneer, John has been involved in the risk-linked investments (RLI) arena since 1995.  Serving as a respected thought leader in the catastrophe bond sphere, John was awarded “Outstanding Contributor of the Year” by Insurance Insider Magazine in 2024, which highlighted his efforts to develop and grow the cat bond segment of the ILS arena.  In addition to leading the catastrophe bond prong of Elementum's Investment team, John is also focused on corporate leadership for the firm.  John earned a BS in Finance from the University of South Carolina, an MS in Financial Markets and Trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1997.
