Guenter Kryszon is Chief Underwriting Officer for Markel Insurance, the
insurance operations within Markel Group. Headquartered in Richmond,
Virginia, and founded in 1930, Markel is a Fortune 500 company with
insurance, reinsurance, and investment operations around the world.

In his current role, Guenter leads and directs underwriting strategy, ceded
reinsurance, product development, exposure and performance management
across all product lines within Markel in the US and Bermuda.

Guenter joined Markel in 2019 and has extensive experience driving growth
and profitability through initiatives relating to portfolio optimization, data
analytics, enterprise risk management and product development.

Guenter is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is Chartered
Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Engineer in Training (EIT) at
Markel’s headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.
