Insider Progress is a cross-market, free-to-join community launched by Insurance Insider and designed to promote active discussions around building an insurance workplace for the future.

But, in order to truly enact change, we need support from all corners of the market – both men and women, from the new graduate recruit to the C-suite executive. Why Attend?

The (re)insurance industry faces a talent gap as many employees near retirement and new skills, like tech expertise, are needed. While efforts focus on diverse entry-level hiring, there's also potential to attract mid-career talent, including second-career professionals and those returning from career breaks.

This event will explore strategies for sustaining expertise, fostering inclusive hiring, and implementing mentorship programs. Join us to learn from experts on creating long-term, sustainable recruitment practices and reshaping the workforce for a more diverse and skilled future.

  • Mentorship: guiding second careerists to becoming managers as well as exploring various mentorship models and their impact on employee engagement, retention, and innovation
  • Recruitment channels: appropriate channels to tap into career returnees and those seeking to change career as well as looking at the emphasis on diverse talent acquisition strategies that focus on DEI to ensure a wide range of talent is added to the workforce.
  • Career Returners and second careerists: a look at programs designed to help build bridges between companies and career returnees of all ages, from education institutes as well as community organisations. We recognise individuals join the workforce at all ages and thus see the importance on connecting social and corporate institutions.
  • Supporting returnees: creating a pathway for women returning from maternity or a career break as well as those returning to work from other extended breaks such as caregiving and medical leave whilst also promoting inclusive language to achieve a balanced workforce representation.
